3. How We Use Your Information

The primary use of your data is to provide the core functionality of the extension:

4. Data Storage and Security

Text Content: We do not permanently store the content of the messages you process through TapTone. Once the translation or refinement is returned to your browser, the data is discarded from our processing servers.

BYOK Keys: If you use the "Bring Your Own Key" feature, your API keys are encrypted and stored locally in your browser's storage. They are never sent to our servers, only directly to your chosen AI provider.

5. Third-Party Processors

To provide AI-powered translation and tone polishing, we transmit the text you select to third-party Large Language Model (LLM) providers, specifically OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Groq. These providers process the text solely to generate the response. We do not store your input text or the AI-generated output on our servers.
